Before becoming a homeschool mom, I spent several years teaching in schools. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for solid educational practices, but they also showed me something else.
Children don’t always need more.
Sometimes they simply need slower.
Since beginning our homeschool journey, my philosophy of education has shifted. While I still value strong academics, I’ve found myself drawn more and more toward meaningful learning instead of hurried learning. I want my children to read beautiful books, spend time outdoors, ask thoughtful questions, and most importantly, become rooted in God’s Word.
That desire is what inspired this growing collection of Bible Verse Copywork and copywork printables.

Each booklet combines Bible worksheets, scripture handwriting, tracing activities, and thoughtful coloring pages into one gentle resource. My hope is that these practice pages become a natural part of your homeschool rhythm while helping children hide God’s Word in their hearts.
Rather than viewing handwriting as just another subject to check off, I see copy work as an opportunity to develop attention, patience, and Christlike character traits. As children slowly write each verse, they’re strengthening handwriting, learning excellent language, and spending time with the Lord all at once.
Charlotte Mason described transcription as “slow and beautiful work,” and I think that perfectly captures what these booklets are designed to become.

Why Bible Verse Copywork Works
Copywork is so much more than handwriting practice.
As children carefully write each scripture verse, they naturally begin noticing punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and sentence structure. They’re strengthening fine motor skills while spending time in God’s Word.
One of my favorite things about Bible copywork is that it doesn’t feel like another assignment. Instead, it becomes an effective way to encourage scripture memorization. Long before my boys intentionally memorize a memory verse, they already know many of the words simply because they’ve written them over and over.
Those repeated moments with the Word of God sometimes lead to wonderful conversations about the meaning behind each verse. We’ve found that writing passages of Scripture encourages both careful observation and thoughtful discussion in a way that feels natural.
Whether you’re teaching young learners, elementary students, middle school, or even high school, Bible Verse Copywork remains a meaningful way to combine handwriting, Bible study, and faith.

How We Use Copywork in Our Homeschool
Our copywork pages are part of what I like to call our “soft start.”
While I’m finishing breakfast or wrapping up a few work tasks, my boys begin their morning independently with Bible Verse Copywork. It’s calm. It’s predictable. And it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Want to see an overview of what our homeschool will look like this year? I just released a resource page and YouTube video on how we are simplifying our homeschool with unit studies!
These pages work beautifully during:
- Morning baskets
- Bible study
- Independent work
- Sunday school
- Family devotions
- Quiet learning time
I’ve also heard from many Christian parents who use these booklets for homeschool co-ops, church programs, and even classroom use in Christian schools. They pair well with existing lesson plans or can simply be added as a peaceful start to the school day.
Because every booklet is a digital download, you can print as many copies as your whole family needs. Many families laminate the tracing pages or place them in sheet protectors so children can practice again and again.

The Simple Living Bible Verse Copywork Booklet
This newest booklet was inspired by one of our favorite homeschool themes—simple living.
While we originally created it to accompany our family’s study of homesteading and living off the land, I wanted the focus to remain where it belongs: on Scripture.

This booklet walks through Psalm 119:33–40, a beautiful passage that asks the Lord to teach us His ways, incline our hearts toward His commandments, and give us life according to His Word.
Each week includes:
- Bible Verse Copywork pages
- Coloring pages
- Scripture memorization activities
Whether you’re looking for meaningful morning work, a quiet Bible study, or simply a wonderful resource for encouraging daily time in Scripture, this booklet was created to serve families in a gentle, practical way.

As a former teacher and now a homeschool mom of five, I created these copywork booklets because I wanted something that was more than handwriting practice. I wanted my children to spend a few quiet minutes each day slowing down, writing Scripture, and filling their minds with truth. These pages have become one of our favorite parts of our homeschool mornings, and it is my prayer that they become a blessing to your family as well.
