Our Favorite Part – My favorite part as a mom was the idea so clearly portrayed that we each are fearfully and wonderfully made with a unique purpose.

Where can I buy these books, what are the best ages for these books, and where can I buy them? Let’s dive deeper into those questions.

Coop Learns He Can Overview

In this charming tale, we follow Coop, the youngest member of the Wheelie family. Coop dreams of doing big, important things like his older siblings. When he joins his sister Joy, a spirited Jeep, on an off-roading adventure, Coop quickly realizes that, as a MINI-Cooper, he can’t quite keep up with her rock-climbing and mud-flinging escapades. This realization leaves Coop feeling downhearted about his own abilities. However, through his journey, Coop learns that he is fearfully and wonderfully made by God, just as he is, and that he has his own unique purpose.

What I love about this story is how it gently imparts the message that God has crafted each of us uniquely, with our own strengths and purposes. It’s a lesson that’s so vital for our little ones to grasp, especially in a world that often emphasizes comparison.

More about the Author

Sarah Reju isn’t just an author; she’s a pastor’s wife and homeschooling mom of five living in Washington, DC. Her background shines through in her writing, seamlessly weaving biblical truths into stories that resonate with children. Sarah has also authored other children’s books like God Is Better Than Trucks and God Is Better Than Princesses, which aim to teach kids about God’s character in relatable ways.

More about the Illustrator

Tania Rex was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania. She loves taking an idea and turning it into a picture! Experimenting with styles and drawing is how she spends most of her spare time. Tania draws inspiration from little everyday miracles, aiming to point audience attention to the ever-present magic of real life. Her vibrant and expressive illustrations in all The Wheelies series beautifully bring the stories to life, capturing children’s attention and enhancing the storytelling experience.

The Layout

The book is thoughtfully designed with young readers in mind. The text is clear and concise, making it accessible for early readers, while the illustrations provide ample context to aid comprehension. One feature I particularly appreciate is the special section at the end for parents. It offers points for further conversation about embracing our strengths and weaknesses, providing a great springboard for meaningful discussions with our kids.

Recommended Ages

Coop Learns He Can is geared towards children aged 3 to 8. However, I believe its message is universal. Even older children can benefit from the book’s theme of understanding one’s purpose in light of God’s truth. Plus, the engaging storyline and illustrations make it a delightful read for the whole family.

Where to Buy

Coop Learns he Can

You can find Coop Learns He Can directly on the New Growth Press website. They offer both physical and eBook versions to suit your preference. I highly recommend that if you are able, that you buy from New Growth Press. I’m not totally ‘against’ companies like Amazon, but Amazon just simply does not need your money in the same way that smaller companies do. Support these Christian publishing companies when you can!

Final Mom Thoughts

As a parent, I’m always seeking out books that not only entertain but also instill valuable lessons in my children. Coop Learns He Can does just that. It opens the door for conversations about self-worth, embracing our unique qualities, and understanding that we all have a special purpose designed by God.

Reading this book with my kids led to some insightful discussions about their own strengths and how they can appreciate the differences in others. It’s heartwarming to see them begin to understand that they don’t have to be like everyone else to be valuable and loved.

If you’re looking for a book that combines a fun, engaging story with profound life lessons, I highly recommend adding Coop Learns He Can to your family’s bookshelf. It’s a story that your children will enjoy and it’s a fantastic faith-centric storyline!
