Free Christian Birth Affirmations

We love it when you share!

Bringing a new life into the world is a profound journey, and expecting mothers understandably desire a positive birth experience. I am on my fourth pregnancy and throughout each of my pregnancies I have used Christian birth affirmations based on the Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5. When I made them back in 2017, I truly thought they were a little ‘over the top’, but they have become the only consistent part of each of the labor and deliveries. The affirmations have anchored me through the beginnings of labor and echo throughout my mind toward the end.

I hope that these printable birth affirmations will help and encourage you as well through your childbirth experience.

Back in 2017, I was pregnant with my first child and my cousin gave me this Hypnobirthing book. It was fascinating. I’ve taken some points out of it and applied them to my birthing experience, but I’ve also dismissed some of its claims. I have found that to be true of almost every book or podcast that I have read/listened to about pregnancy, birth, and delivery. There are some nuggets of truth you can take and claim and others that maybe you just tuck away.

Also, during that pregnancy, I read the book Redeeming Childbirth, which I have mentioned on this blog many times because of the value I found as a new mom in looking at my birthing experience through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.

Between these two books and a plethora of online reading, I decided to make birthing cards to bring with me in my hospital bag. I read them throughout the pregnancy over and over again. They are well-worn now after three births and to be quite honest, look terrible, but they have aided me greatly in setting my mind on ‘higher’ things.

For this fourth pregnancy, I finally decided that maybe it was time to make something more ‘pretty’. My Christian birth affirmations are now available to you too in a PDF

In the free download below you will get an easy-to-print PDF document, which makes it easy to share, print, and carry in a hospital bag, or a birthing center. Expecting mothers can even use them as part of their birthing space preparation, hanging them on walls or placing them strategically for visual reinforcement.

Christian Birth Affirmations

Bringing a new life into the world is a sacred journey, and for expectant mothers seeking a faith-filled experience, Christian birth affirmations can be a powerful source of strength and reassurance. These affirmations, rooted in Bible verses from Galatians 5 and positive thoughts, aim to create a birth space filled with the spirit of faith, love, and hope.

Utilizing positive birth affirmations can be a great tool for maintaining the right mindset throughout the birthing process. The subconscious mind is a powerful force, and by flooding it with positive thoughts and statements, mothers can counteract negative thoughts that may arise during labor.

Trust me, when I first was reading about positive birth affirmations, I was under the mindset that it was odd, but the more I have read and explored what positive thinking does for us, the more I am convinced that these birth affirmations may just be exactly what we need during the birthing process! It doesn’t mean that the pain of labor will go away. It simply is a way to anchor our thoughts on the right things.

I remember when I gave birth naturally for the first time, there were nurses there who had never seen a natural birth before and the next day a nurse popped in who had seen many women give birth naturally. I was embarrassed about a few of the things that had happened during transition and she made a statement that surprised me. She said, “You didn’t even swear or curse. That doesn’t ever happen.” That has echoed through my mind each time I’m pregnant.

We are bringing precious life into this world and although it’s hard…trust me I know how hard it is, we want our babies to feel loved as we welcome them into this world. For as much as it relies on us, let us try and create a positive environment for our babies to come into.
