Tips and Tricks

Our nativity scene coloring pictures cater to kids of all ages. Whether you’re coloring with younger children or older kids, this fun activity can be adapted to fit various skill levels. For those who are coloring for the first time, starting with lighter colors can be a great approach. Older children can experiment with darker colors and blend techniques, while all ages can explore their creativity.

Using construction paper, you can create a stunning display of your completed works. Once finished, these beautiful nativity coloring pages can be proudly displayed on the fridge, turned into Christmas cards, or even framed to adorn your walls.

If you are feeling particularly creative you can create some nativity crafts using construction paper as a backing and cut out the colored elements or the elements after a child is done coloring them and then glue them to the construction paper.

I recommend printing these on your printer’s highest settings to get the best results.

Another tip that I love to give is that if you want to have reusable coloring pages, laminate them and then use dry-erase markers to use them time and time again!

Teaching the Story of Christmas

One of the BEST Christmas storybooks that I’ve ever found is called “Christmas Is Coming.” Be sure to add this to your Christmas book collection if you like seeing the Nativity Story from the Old Testament to the New Testament and beyond!

Coloring these pages can also serve as a powerful teaching tool for parents and educators. They provide a fun way to explain the story of Christmas to children, highlighting the real reason we celebrate. Discussing each scene as you color can lead to conversations about the nativity set and the significance of each character in the nativity story. Sharing bible verses that relate to the birth of Jesus can also deepen their understanding and appreciation for the holiday.

In Sunday School settings, these free nativity coloring pages can be used during lessons, helping children engage with the story in a hands-on way. They can work on their own nativity scene while learning about the holy family and the journey of the three kings. It’s a fantastic opportunity to combine creativity with education.
