It’s in these moments that the Holy Spirit works through the Scriptures, revealing great things about God and His plans. As busy moms navigate the demands of their days, a few minutes dedicated to God’s Word can transform their perspectives and equip them to face challenges with a renewed spirit.
As moms strive to live out the principles found in the Bible, they discover the armor of God, empowering them to withstand the trials and uncertainties that come their way. It’s not just about learning; it’s about living out the good works that God has prepared for them, both in their homes and in the world.
The Value of Bible Studies for Moms
Studying God’s Word isn’t just about accumulating knowledge; it’s about embracing a transformative journey that impacts every facet of life. In the chaos of motherhood, finding a study guide tailored for busy moms can make a world of difference. Resources like Jen Wilkin’s insightful 7-session study or other free Bible studies available online provide a structured and manageable approach for mothers seeking to dive deeper into biblical truths.
The Bible offers a wealth of stories and insights that resonate profoundly with a season of motherhood. From the strength and faith of Pharaoh’s daughter to the nurturing love of a godly mother, these narratives provide a biblical perspective that resonates deeply in the hearts of mothers. The story of the angel Gabriel, the armor of God, and the gospel message of Christ Jesus become not just stories but lifelines to draw strength from.
Navigating Motherhood with God’s Truths
A godly mother doesn’t have to have all the answers, but she seeks them in God’s Word. The Scriptures offer an array of examples and teachings that guide mothers in raising children with love, wisdom, and grace. Understanding God’s love and imbibing the gospel message becomes foundational in shaping not just a mother’s life but also her children’s lives.
Engaging in small groups dedicated to studying the Bible among fellow moms creates a supportive environment where experiences, challenges, and victories can be shared. These groups foster community and provide encouragement as women journey through the seasons of motherhood together.

I love this book because when I needed a book to remind me of how much Jesus really loves me in my motherhood, I was met with a mentor and this book. Together we read this book and it is a mentorship that I will truthfully always remember.

This is a bestseller with over 100,000 books sold, so that should tell you right away that this is worth the read!
For the Well-Watered Woman, Jesus himself is the Well she drinks from daily. He’s her source of hope, healing, peace, and purpose. He’s the living water who satisfies the thirsty soul forever and fills her empty cup.
The Well-Watered Woman
You will discover how to be rooted in truth, how to grow in grace, and ultimately how to flourish no matter what season of life you are in such as motherhood with littles or beyond!

Risen Motherhood: Gospel Hope for Everyday Moments by Emily A. Jensen (Author), Laura Wifler (Author)
Can I confess something, I recommend this book almost as much as I recommend Sally Clarkson’s “The Lifegiving Home” but I’ve never completely made my way through it! I can’t believe I just admitted that. I recommend it because it’s truly one of the best books on motherhood that I’ve ever started to read. It’s worth getting through!
My issue is that I LOVE reading, but only have a small amount of time to commit to it. I tend to read multiple books at a time without actually finishing them. My Goodreads app is shameful!
There are over 3,000 reviews of this book plus an 4.8-star review on Amazon. Trust me, this book is worth your time and effort to read.
“Because while service with littles in tow is harder than it used to be, I trust that God uses it to plant seeds of generosity, kindness, and selflessness in their lives. I trust that God will use it to help them see how we can be the tangible hands and feet of Christ.”
Emily Jenson, Risen Motherhood
The Risen Motherhood podcast is also a great resource for mamas!

Systematic Bible Studies
What are systematic Bible studies? These are the studies that specifically look at a book or the Bible and take them verse by verse or as a book as a whole to teach. These are not specifically written for moms, but rather I have chosen these because of the rich study methods that the books possess. They are also written by female teachers.

Mark: How Jesus Changes Everything by John Perritt
This is another book by New Growth Press and looks at how the book of Mark shows that Jesus changes everything! You will find an appreciation for the loving and suffering servant.
Created for one-to-one discipleship, small group, or large settings, this guide is theologically rich in a time when biblical illiteracy is growing among Christians. Rather than a message of moralism, Mark introduces students to Jesus: the lover of the least and the hero of heroes.

James: Recipe for a Living Faith by Leah C Adams
This is a FUN Bible study. As a recipe lover, I’m specifically drawn to how Adams has laid out this book. This is a six-session study exploring the book of James written by the brother of Jesus.
In this study, the reader will consider topics that are essential to a dynamic and powerful faith journey: faith and works, staying faithful under persecution, partiality in the body of Christ, patience, the importance of taming the tongue, and prayer

Hebrews: A Better Blend by Leah C Adams
This 8-week study is also by Leah C Adams. I chose both of these as they are fun and light, but very insightful Bible studies. The book of Hebrews has powerful stories of heroes of the faith and is an encouraging study for anyone!
HeBrews A Better Blend is all about better things…with faith in Jesus being the focal point of all things better. In this Bible study, Leah Adams teaches us from the Old and New Testaments, showing how the writer of Hebrews blended a beautiful mixture of Old Covenant theology, with Jesus and the New Covenant He instituted with His blood.
