Easy Bible Crafts and Activities for Kids

There is something lovely about doing crafts and activities with eager minds! Kids love to do crafts because they spark their imagination, move an abstract idea or story to concrete, and reinforce a lesson or teaching; not to mention that they are often sensory, messy, and fun!

This list of Bible crafts for kids takes the work out of scouring the internet for ideas and gives you the best of the best out there. The work has already been done for you! Great for a Sunday School Bible lesson! Make sure to send this list to a Sunday School teacher in your life for craft time!

These crafts are geared to the preschool and early elementary age groups, but they can be modified and used with kids of all ages. The 3D Noah’s Ark template in this list would actually be great for a teenager or even an adult (I know I would enjoy it!).

Old Testament Bible Crafts

The Old Testament stories are intriguing to children and they love imagining the possibilities of these stories. Here are some of my favorite Old Testament Bible crafts.

7 Days of Creation Globe – Christian Preschool Printables

This honestly has to be one of the most adorable 7 Days of Creation crafts that I have ever seen! It’s so creative and would be so much fun to do in any Sunday School class, homeschool setting, or classroom!

Daniel and the Lion’s Den – Two Pink Peonies

Kids love the Bible lesson of Daniel and the Lions Den! This one is certainly intended for younger ages as it is very simple and quick. Which a simple craft may be perfect for you! Daniel and the Lion’s Den from Daniel 6 is a wonderful story to teach children about obeying and trusting God. The craft is from Two Pink Peonies and is truly adorable!

3D Noah’s Ark Craft – Not Just Paper Boutique

This unique craft idea is not free! It is a template available to purchase on Etsy, but it is so aesthetically adorable, that I had to include it in this list. It is certainly a more advanced craft and maybe even would be considered a nursery decoration. Regardless, it is an adorable option for doing a Bible craft! If you need a more advanced Noah’s Ark Bible craft, this one is it!

Noah’s Ark Puzzle Craft – Inspire the Mom

This craft round-up has not one but five different craft templates to choose from. I specifically liked the Noah’s Ark puzzle sheet, but she has a variety of adorable other activities and crafts to inspire you! A perfect addition Noah’s Ark craft ideas!

Jonah and the Whale Coloring – Healing Home

This fun and free (yes free!) pack comes with coloring, a spinner craft, a puzzle, and some patterns and tracing pages. It’s a great Bible craft for reinforcing story of Jonah and an intriguing Bible lesson from the Old Testament. The spinner makes a great whale craft! Feeding the 5,000 – Jesus without Language

You are going to want to check out this amazing website. I love how Jesus without Langauge is opperating and running her ministry. Everything is based on donations, plus she has some truly high-quality crafts and printables to use for kids ministry! This unique craft is from the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 that can be found in Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:31-44, Luke 9:12-17, and John 6:1-14.

Color your Own Slap Bracelet – Amazon

This is so cool! What a concept and what a price. This product frequently goes on sale, so if you are not in a rush, it might be worth it to check back a few times to see if it goes down. I’ve seen the 72 pieces as low as $15.99! That’s just about $.22 a piece! Great for larger events.

Armor of God Activity – Healing Home

This one comes from my very own library/vault of freebies, crafts, and activities. My Kids Bible Vault is filled to the brim with fun printables that reinforce the biblical truths of the Bible. This past winter my kids were introduced to the idea of the Armor of God and then this summer it truly came alive for them when they went to a Keepers of the Kingdom VBS by Answers in Genesis.

These printables were inspired by their curiosity and imagination as they learned what each part of the armor of God represents. My 5-year-old almost daily references the Armor of God in some capacity. Praise God! In this activity, you will find crafts, coloring pages, and activities to reinforce Ephesians 6:14-17.

Little Sheet Craft – One Little Project

This little sheet craft is great for illustrating a variety of Bible stories from the New and Old Testaments. However, I personally think that the Parable of the Lost sheep in Matthew (Matthew 18:12–14) and Luke (Luke 15:3–7) is one of the most popular ways that this craft can be used.

Fruit of the Spirit Printables

Doing Fruit of the Spirit Bible crafts is a fun way to engage your kids in learning biblical values while getting creative! These kids’ crafts are perfect for incorporating into your home school routine, as they make teaching Galatians 5:22-23 hands-on and memorable.

Whether it’s coloring Fruit of the Spirit pages, or using the provided play-doh mat, each project helps little ones visualize and remember the qualities like love, joy, and peace in a fun, interactive way. Plus, crafting together can open up great conversations about how we can live out the Fruit of the Spirit in our everyday lives.

Jesus Calms the Storm – Mommy Snippets

Isn’t this craft just adorable? I mean who would have thought to use Q-tips as people? What a fantastic idea! Not only is it a great Bible craft for Sunday School classrooms (or any learning environment!), but it also is a fantastic reminder for anyone that Jesus never leaves us or forsakes us!

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 ESV

This craft specifically is meant to illustrate the Bible story of Jesus calming the storm from Matthew 8:23-34. You can read about the story here.

BeeAttidues Craft

This one might be a little out of the budget for some, but it is a great way to reinforce the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12.

You can also check out our Beatitudes coloring pages and memorization page on this blog!

Resurrection Watercolor Craft – Made to Be a Momma

This one is cute and it would be excellent for older ages because it has some more advanced features. The craft and free printable come from Made to be a Momma and are great for teaching about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Word of God Craft – Made to be a Momma

This one isn’t based on any specific story in the New Testament, but it teaches the importance of the Word of God. It’s another craft that is a little more advanced, but certainly will be a ‘keeper’ when you go to clean out your child’s abundance of craft projects!

Jesus Walks with Us Craft – Amazon

This is another craft find from good ole’ Amazon! Sometimes we just need the ease of something shipped to us! This craft centers around the idea that ‘Jesus walks with us’. Another great bulk activity for a larger event!

Holiday Bible Crafts

The holidays are the perfect time to dive into Bible crafts for kids. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter are important holidays in the Christian faith and they have wonderful traditions, concepts, and themes that are great to reinforce with the power of a craft!

Christmas Crafts

Christmas tends to be the time of the year when moms who are not typically ‘craft moms’ come out of the closet and attempt to suddenly become the ultimate crafty mom! If that describes you then you might need this reminder: you don’t have to be a ‘craft mom’ unless you want to! Chances are, you have other strengths that your kids love! However, if you want to try some crafts during the Christmas season, I’ve picked out some very easy ones to achieve!

Baby Jesus Craft – Kids Craft Room

Not only does this make a fun craft during Christmas, but it could also be used as a Christmas card or thank you for teachers or other service workers. It also comes with multiple multicultural options if that is important to you!

Nativity Ornament – Kid-Friendly Things to Do

This is another baby Jesus craft, but this time it is an easy one to make into an ornament. The best part is that you could do this one on a whim because chances are you have most or all of the supplies you need lying around your home!

Nativity Puppets – Kids Craft Room Store

This is one of those crafts that you do have to purchase, but I looked for quite a while for finger puppets and this one is the best one that I found! The printable includes Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, three kings, an angel, a shepherd, a sheep, and a donkey. It also comes in full color and black and white for your kids to color themselves!

Christmas Coloring Pages With Scripture – Healing Home

This is another coloring activity, but it’s free, so we already love it just because of that! There are nativity pages and additional generic Christmas coloring.

Hint – There is an upgrade pack in this post with an additional 7 Christian Christmas activities! Worth the upgrade!
