Amid all of the “glowing” that comes with budding Motherhood, it isn’t often that the stress and uncertainty of being a mom is highlighted. Even the best of manuals cannot prepare you for the ongoing demand and load along this journey. Many moms may feel helpless, clueless and weary – and if that isn’t enough, they feel guilt and shame for feeling this way!
The following bible verses for struggling moms sheds light back on those not-so-glowing moments, and reminds us of how to best overcome the toughest days.

Bible Verses about Life Struggles
Are you struggling? Not only mom’s struggle. We all go through seasons in our life when life seems like a daily up-hill struggle. The Bible has plenty to say about this. There are many bible verses for life struggles, because the Bible does not sugar coat things. The Bible is straight forward with acknowledging that this world is sinful, and that Christ is the only answer when life gets hard.
For the Weary Mom
For the mom that feels weary and as if her daily work is mundane and yielding no fruit.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.Galatians 6:9 ESV
For the Burdened Mom
For the mom whose heart is burdened and overwhelmed for several reasons. She is crying out to God who is higher and the giver of strength.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.Psalm 61:2 ESV
For the Grumbling Moms
For the mom who finds herself resorting to grumbling often because she is frustrated and may not know how else to deal.
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. –Philippians 2:14-15
For the Mom who Feels Challenged
For the mom who needs a reminder on how to keep her cool and handle her children in those challenging moments.
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.Ephesians 4:2 ESV
For the Mom that Needs Love
For the mom who needs a reaffirmation on the meaning of love for herself. As well as a standard of biblical love from which she may teach her children.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…I Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV
For the Angry Mom
For the mom who desires to reflect God in her character and needs help with anger.
The Lord is gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.Psalm 145:8 ESV

For the mom who may feel regret or indifferent over the adjustments in her life after having children.
Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3

If you are looking for Bible verses for struggling moms, chances are, you are trying to pursue a more godly and healing home. That is the precise reason I wrote “Cultivating a Healing Home: In the Midst of the Stress and Worry of Young Motherhood.” It is my prayer that this 21-day devotional rejuvenates the struggling mom.
The Journey of a Struggling Mom
While you take the time to meditate on these bible verses for the struggling moms, remember that Motherhood is a journey. I once heard someone say, “They days are long, but the years are short.” These words couldn’t be truer. One day, the room that never seemed to stay clean will be empty, and our kids will be the next generation of adults who are governing the world and living their lives.
As you parent, train your eyes to see them for their future selves. Let this be a guide in how you speak to them, train them, mold them, love them, and live out your own life in front of them. No matter how out of control your situation may be, consider the high calling that has been placed on you as “Mother”.

Prayer Points for Struggling Moms
Here are some prayer points that help to strengthen and bring perspective to struggling moms:
- Prayer for the ability to see your children as God sees them.
- Pray for God to enlarge your heart and understanding for your children.
- Ask God to continue revealing His plan for your life, outside of motherhood.
- Ask God to grow you in the midst of the struggle. How is He allowing the struggle to mold and mature you?
- Pray for God to reveal hidden traps that the enemy has set before you and your children and ask God to destroy those traps.
Remember, you are not alone. Many mothers have been (and are in your shoes). Take it one day at a time and when that is still too much, take it one minute at a time. Choose your battles (and your tasks) and remember God is Lord over the impossible – not you. Allow this to free you from the mentality of perfectionism and sorrow over failures. He is near to the struggling mom who is broken hearted and can’t see her way. My dear sister, He cares for YOU! Bask in these bible verses for struggling moms and remember these scripture truths!
