Truth be told, I’m one of the ‘ones’ who is not ‘big’ on Valentine’s Day. It feels like a commercial holiday to supplement spending between Christmas and Easter. It’s actually the only holiday that I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder about. I have no personal excuse or story for my dislike besides that I just don’t have an appreciation for what is called the ‘love’ holiday.
However, when I switch my mindset to this holiday being about focusing on the kind of love that is displayed in the Bible, then I get a little bit more excited! God’s love is woven throughout the Bible in big ways, and this holiday can be an excuse to shout from the rooftops that we have been given the gift of salvation through the sacrificial love of Jesus.

I Have Engraved You on the Palm of my Hands

It’s a securing passage that reminds us of our assurance of salvation. We are blessed beyond measure, and Valentine’s Day is a great day to remember the blessing of our salvation in Jesus.
