Free Easter handwriting worksheets featuring Bible verse tracing and copywork. Help kids build writing skills and fine motor practice with this printable Easter booklet.
If you are anything like me, you are always looking for a fun way to weave learning and faith together in your homeschool or family routine. As a homeschooling parent, I love creating simple resources that help my children grow academically while also hiding God’s Word in their hearts.
That is exactly why I created these Easter handwriting worksheets. What started as a simple idea for a few practice sheets quickly grew into a full Bible verse handwriting booklet that walks children through the story of Easter using scripture copywork.
Inside this printable, you will find a series of printable pages that guide children through key moments in the Easter story. Each passage includes letter tracing, handwriting lines, and a coloring page so children can engage with the verses in multiple ways.
The goal is simple: help young learners develop writing skills, practice correct letter formation, and strengthen their literacy skills while reflecting on the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
The booklet walks through passages beginning with Jesus entering Jerusalem and continues through the resurrection and the Great Commission. You can see this progression clearly in the pages of the printable, where each section introduces a new Bible moment along with copywork practice.
Whether you are teaching kindergarten students, early elementary learners, or older children needing handwriting practice, this resource can easily fit into your daily rhythm.
And yes… There are even a few Easter-themed illustrations that make the pages feel a little more festive (even if there are no Easter eggs or Easter bunny characters in sight!).

Why Bible Verse Handwriting
Handwriting practice is about much more than simply learning to write letters. When children copy meaningful words and sentences, they are strengthening multiple areas of development at the same time.
Bible verse handwriting is a great way to combine:
- scripture memorization
- literacy development
- fine motor practice
- and quiet reflection on God’s Word.
When children trace and copy verses, they are practicing letter formation, strengthening fine motor skills, and improving hand-eye coordination.
Copywork also encourages deeper thinking. As children slowly write a passage word by word, they are naturally reflecting on the meaning of the text. This type of activity encourages critical thinking, scripture meditation, and stronger language arts skills.
Bible copywork focuses on meaningful words and sentences rather than random phrases. Instead of practicing simple sentences like “The cat ran,” children are writing verses like:
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”
That makes handwriting practice feel purposeful.
How to Use My Handwriting Booklets
Right now, we are actually using this booklet as part of our “He Is Risen” Easter unit study from Gather ‘Round Homeschool, and it has fit into our days so naturally.
Since I’m still working from home, our mornings tend to start a little slowly. The kids usually wake up, grab a snack or breakfast, and I’m finishing up a few things on the computer before we officially start our lessons for the day. That little window of time is where my handwriting booklets have been such a gift.
Instead of everyone asking what they should be doing while they wait for me to start the lesson, they open their books and start working through a verse.
They trace the scripture, practice writing it on the lines, and often color the illustration. I love that it’s not just busywork. They are practicing letter formation, building fine motor skills, and slowly writing out God’s Word at the same time.
Because the booklet walks through the Easter story step by step, it actually pairs beautifully with the lessons we’re already doing. When we read about Jesus entering Jerusalem in our unit study, they’re also writing the same passage in their handwriting practice.
It has become a really simple rhythm for us.
As a homeschooling parent, I’m always looking for little ways to make our day flow more smoothly, and this has been one of those small things that makes a big difference.
It gives the kids a chance to practice their writing skills, helps strengthen their literacy skills, and keeps our focus on the real story of Easter while we move through the season together.
